Christmas, etc.

We had a delightful visit to Nashville. There is much to see and do at the convention center that is actually free. We even found a free parking place within walking distance. Beatiful Christmas decorations were everywhere.
Pastor Bobby McCoy and his wife Sarah joined us for dinner Friday night. We managed to get our new home decorated for Christmas and had a delightful evening.
We are not going away for Christmas but will probably be sharing it with our good friend and neighbor, Jean. She was away for the month of November visiting her children and grandchildren in Illinois. She had a very special time with all of them but is glad to be back home again. I am especially glad to have her back. We are still going to the fitness center and swimming pool. My hip is still giving me some problems and I am now going to a chiropractor which seems to be helping a lot.
A dear friend from North Dakota and Moody days will be visiting me and another friend who lives near by in Pigeon Forge for a few days December 15-19. And a friend from Minneapolis will be in the area and possibly a friend from Taiwan. And then there are a numbe of special events at our church where we enjoy such good fellowship.
Each week I have several lessons to mark from my Crossroad Bible Institute students. My neighbor, Jean is going to join me in this outreach. On Monday evenings a small team of us from my church visit the local jail for Bible study with the inmates. This time is a great blessing and challenge. Many of the women are so open to the Word and are seeking God's help to be set free from their bondage to drugs and alchohol. Pray for one lady, Cheryl, who leaves our facility this week. She truly knows the Lord and wants to do jail ministry to help others. She was converted through reading a Bible which she was given when she asked for a Koran. Praise God she is no longer a Muslim! Pray that we may find a better way to follow-up these ladies once they leave Clinton. We will be having a special Christmas gathering for them December 18. I am planning to go again even on Christmas Day evening though the rest of the team will be out of town. I have been busy making special Christmas cards and bookmarks and we are giving each of them John Piper's book SEEING AND SAVORING JESUS CHRIST.
